The age of Adaline

In the beginning you don’t know in which year the movie is being played. Until you see that Adaline Bowman is buying fake ID’s from a modern young boy, that’s how you know it’s present time. Then the voiceover tells you about what happened with Adaline Bowmen and why she looks so young but with such an old soul and appearance. The scene where she has her first car accident, causing her to never age again, gives the movie something fantasy/fiction vibes. But is a beautiful scene too, the voiceover makes it fascinating. But you see the struggle that goes with it.

A few scenes are quite exciting as well. She constantly must be on the move because otherwise people would notice that she isn’t aging. She changes her living place, name and appearance every decade. What I think is quite sad, too make a house feel like home every time over again. I think it’s ironic she only has one friend that is blind. Just because she can’t see that she’s not changing in her appearance.

I love it when she first lays eyes on Allis and he looks the same way back at her. However, I think it’s a shame that she doesn’t do something because she thinks it’s impossible for her too find love or have a relationship. That’s the feeling that I have throughout a big part of the movie. The struggle of her not excepting love because she thinks it’s impossible. Even though she meets the most loving and nicest guys. It’s quite frustrating and beautiful at the same time. This is because she’s a very kind person and says things in a very quiet nice way, in a way that you never could be mad at her.

Her past love stories are heart breaking but at the same time heart-warming. Especially in the end where she found out she dated the father of Allis, what was a beautiful relationship at the time. There are a lot of flashbacks of the father in the movie where you can see the two in love and her breaking his heart in the end.

When the moment comes that Allis finds out that she never ages and that she dated his father, you feel his confusion but also the unconditional love Allis still has for her. That’s why it’s exciting when she’s trying to flee again. He chases her and when she’s in a car accident again, you can feel the stress and panic, is she going to survive yes or no? The most touching moment I think is the moment the daughter comes in the hospital for Adaline, and Adaline tells her that Allis knows about her not ageing and that she’s her daughter. The moment when the daughter starts crying, she’s an old woman by then, is very emotional and touching.

The Age of Adaline is my favourite film because it’s innocent, heart-warming and beautiful. You can really feel the struggle she has with love and him feeling deeply for her. You really feel all the emotions that they are both feeling, what’s causing me to feel connected with the actors. Overall a good feelgood movie with a happy ending.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Hello, everyone who’s reading this movie blog!

Today there’s another written review about a movie. So this review is about the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. The story about the famous singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury. This movie tells his story and it really gave me goose bumps! It began with Freddie watching a music show from three unknown boys. The lead of the group singer stops and Freddie want to sing for their group.

And there the story begins! Freddie joins the group and they become famous. The story of Freddie is really fascinating. I really enjoyed watching the movie. Because of the resembles of the actors and the real people. They look so much a like! The clothing and the hairstyles are definitely pretty cool. There’s probably been so much work about this movie. The best songs of Queen have been really highlighted in this movie. I really would recommend everybody to watch this fascinating and inspiring movie!
